Our journey from the tropical paradise of Maldives to the lush landscapes of Sri Lanka was nothing short of a rollercoaster! ????✈️ What was supposed to be a simple seaplane ride from our Maldivian resort to Velana International Airport turned into an unexpected thrill when a fellow passenger suddenly passed out mid-air. ???? The situation got tense quickly — the pilot had to make an emergency landing and a doctor rushed in to assess the passenger, who was unfortunately declared unfit to travel. Amidst all this chaos, the clock was ticking… our flight to Colombo was scheduled for 9:05 AM, and we only reached the airport at 8:00!

With time running out, we were whisked away in a special vehicle arranged just for us from the seaplane terminal to the international departure gate. But the hurdles didn’t stop there — the airport layout was unfamiliar, and we got lost trying to locate our boarding gate. ???? With some quick thinking (and faster walking), we managed to find the gate just in timeand boarded the flight to Sri Lanka, still catching our breath. The moment we landed in Colombo, we knew the adventure was just beginning.

After getting our local SIM cards, we met the wonderful Danuka ji, our multilingual local guide and driver for the day. Friendly, knowledgeable, and full of stories, he took us on a beautiful tour through the Sri Lankan countryside. Our highlight stop was the Pinnawala Zoo, where we witnessed majestic elephants playing joyfully in the river. It was such a wholesome and grounding experience — seeing these gentle giants bathe and bond in the water truly filled our hearts with joy. ????????

As the day came to an end, exhaustion kicked in. We finally checked into our hotel, where we were welcomed with a refreshing cup of lemon-ginger tea. ???? The warm hospitality and peaceful atmosphere immediately relaxed us. But the best part? The view from our balcony — a breathtaking panorama of mountains, wrapped in mist and calmness. ????
